Babar Azam Third Spot ICC T20 2022

After losing the top spot in the ICC T20 rankings for batsmen, Pakistan captain Babar Azam has slipped further to the third spot, according to the latest ICC T20I rankings.

Babar, who had earlier lost the number one spot to compatriot Mohammad Rizwan, failed to continue his form in the T20 Asia Cup 2022.

Pakistan chief selector Mohammad Wasim has given confidence to the most successful opening pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, saying he was not even thinking about a backup opener for next month’s T20 World Cup. When asked if the intention was to split the opening pair in favor of a batsman with a higher strike rate, Wasim said no such plans were imminent.
