Web Design Process Reflection

From the beginning of this whole process, we were assigned to something pretty easy because we already know where we were heading. This is because it was already an existing app, so all we had to do was pretty much take most of its elements and implement it as a website. So we had less things in our mind about our website.

When it came to the design process luckily we mostly had agreements and approved of each others suggestions with minor tweaks and turned down some.

Then when it came to the prototype of our website, it was very bland, had minor bugs, little data, and everything was a placeholder. Then we added new functions which sprouted more ideas for design and animations which we added and it really brought our website alive. Although we are still missing some data and need a few more CSS to really bring our website out there, we believe it is pretty good at the moment.

Everyone had a good amount of practice when it came to presentation which also led to constructive criticism only to help us. So when it came to the actual presentation to the people funding the program and other important people to consider, we did pretty well. Although it was kind of scary and nerve racking, it honestly wasn’t so bad because there is no difference to the presentation, it was just that there was a little bit more pressure on us.

What I would change is to make stricter deadlines. We are set some by Mrs. Takara but those are just some general features that we should of already considered. But some more functions to add to make out website much better and stand out more than other website is something we should plan and do ourselves. The project manager would set some deadlines and tasks for us but we would sometimes not get it done. Then people would get lazy and think that others would do it for them but that’s not the case. Then some other features might get held back because they are waiting for that one feature people are not doing.

I have gained some valuable experiences during this project to use in the future. Working as a team, communication, deadlines, and working outside of class are all important when working in a team. I plan to use those experiences to help me get better in the future.
