2 easy tips to speed up your work with Automator on macOS

Time is too precious to be wasted and we always look for new tools or methodologies that can help us to better organize our work. Fortunately, there is a tool in your Mac, completely free, that can change your life and it’s called Automator.

This app allows you to create workflows and the great thing is that you don’t need any development knowledge because it’s completely based on a great interface and you only need to drag and drop pre-define actions.

The are plenty of possibilities with Automator and the best way to learn how to use it, it’s just explore and have fun, but I want to share with you a couple of useful examples to learn how to start. 😎

This summer I went on a wonderful trip in Denmark 🌎 where I took hundreds of pictures. When I came back to my home I wanted to upload them to my social profile but something happened:

Oh no, all my photos are JPG and now I have to open every single image with an editor application and export it into the right format and repeat this operation hundreds of time 😭😭😭

Don’t be sad! Automator is here to help you! I’ll show you how I fixed in a couple of minutes my situation 😍

Open Automator and select: Quick Action

Then:

Because this action will convert your image format the system will ask you if wanna also add an action to duplicate the image before to convert it.

Remember that when you run a quick action you can’t undone — it so I suggest to add it if you don’t wanna risk losing anything.
